Dr Seuss Day

Happy Birthday Dr Seuss!

Have you heard of Read Across America? Read Across America, also known as Dr Seuss Day, is a yearly observance in the US inaugurated by the National Education Association. It is typically held on the school day that is nearest to March 2nd, Dr Seuss birthday.

Theodor Seuss Geisel was an American artist, book publisher, animator, poet, a political cartoonist as well as an author. He is best known for authoring over 60 children’s books.

The initiative began in 1997 as a way to encourage children in reading more books and also getting them excited about reading. It doesn’t have to be Dr Seuss Books they read as long as they are reading!
