DIY: The BEST Play-doh | San Antonio Moms

The kiddos are out or just about to be out of school so we thought we would bring you all one of our favorite recipes from one of our favorite Mamas that we follow. If you aren’t already, you need to be following MotherCould on Instagram. Go ahead, we’ll wait, go follow her and meet us back here!

Myriam Sandler is a mom to 2 going on 3 has some of the best DIY activities for younger children. Let’s just say she was my lifesaver in 2020.

This easy recipe is something that your kiddos can help with or if you’re a little on the OCD side like me, make it ahead of time either during nap or bedtime and it will be ready for play when they wake up. This play-doh is safe for kids, non-toxic, doesn’t contain harmful dyes, and safe to eat (not that we recommend it) 😜

🖐🏼TASTE SAFE HOMEMADE PLAYDOUGH DIY 🌈

Warning: This stuff is addicting to make! 🤩 Once you make one, there’s no going back to store-bought 😜. But seriously, it’s the best. Made out of food-grade items, it is taste safe, long-lasting, and extremely fun for kids to play with. It is by far my absolute favorite sensory recipe to make ❤️.

💡Just two tips based on a lot of trial and error on my part 🙈: use the same measuring cup for all the ingredients and tap the cup full of flour so that all the air bubbles come out and you measure accurately ❤️.

👉🏼YOU’LL NEED:
-1 cup flour
-1/2 cup table salt
-2 tbsp cream of tartar
-1 tbsp oil
-1 cup boiling water
-Food coloring

👉🏼INSTRUCTIONS:
1️⃣In a bowl, combine the flour, salt, and cream of tartar. Mix well.
2️⃣Add the oil
3️⃣Mix a few drops of food coloring into the boiling water and add to the bowl.
4️⃣Mix everything very well and massage with your hand until it is no longer sticky.

💡Storage: Wait for the play dough to cool completely. Wrap in plastic and place in an air-tight container. Store at room temperature for up to 6 months!!
