The Ultimate Parent Fiesta Guide 2026 | San Antonio Moms MailChimp Code

Hola, San Antonio Moms! Get your flower crowns ready and your comfortable shoes laced up because Fiesta 2026 is officially here (April 16–26)!

We all know Fiesta can be a whirlwind of cascarones and “Chicken on a Stick,” but doing it with kids in tow requires a tactical plan. Whether you’re a first-timer or a seasoned pro, here is your ultimate, mom approved guide to navigating the 11 day party without the meltdown.

The “Big Three” Family Events

1. Battle of Flowers Parade

  • When: Friday, April 24, 2026 | Morning

  • Cost: Reserved bleacher seats range from $33 to $43.

  • Stroller Friendly? Medium. If you have a reserved seat, there is very little room for a stroller in the bleachers. I recommend a baby carrier or a compact umbrella stroller that you can fold up and tuck under your seat.

  • Parking: Avoid the headache and use the VIA Park & Ride from Crossroads or Stone Oak. If you must drive, the St. Mary’s Garage is a solid bet, but expect to pay “Event Rates” ($20+).

2. King William Fair

  • When: Saturday, April 25, 2026 | 9:00 AM

  • Cost: Admission is usually around $15–$20 (check online for early-bird discounts); Kids 12 & under are typically Free.

  • Stroller Friendly? Yes! This is the most stroller friendly “big” event. It’s a giant neighborhood block party. There is a dedicated “Kid’s Kingdom” with rides and crafts.

  • Parking: This is the toughest part. Most streets are closed. Look for private lots in Southtown (bring cash) or use the Prked app to reserve a driveway in advance.

3. Chaparral Music & Heritage Festival

  • When: Saturday, April 18, 2026 | 11:00 AM – 7:00 PM

  • Cost: FREE! (VIP options available for $75).

  • Stroller Friendly? High. It’s held at Travis Park, which is flat and easy to navigate. Plus, they have programming from The Magik Theatre for the little ones.

  • Parking: The City Tower Garage is just a few blocks away and usually has better availability than the lots right on the parade routes.

The Foodie Favorite: NIOSA (Night In Old San Antonio)

  • When: April 21–24, 2026

  • The Mom Hack: Go Tuesday or Wednesday right when gates open (5:30 PM).

  • Cost: $20 presale / $25 at the gate. Kids 12 and under are FREE with an adult!

  • Stroller Friendly? No. Honestly, leave the stroller at home. The crowds get “shoulder to shoulder” very fast, and the historic cobblestones of La Villita are a nightmare for wheels. Use a carrier!

  • Parking: Don’t even try to park downtown for this. Use the VIA Park & Ride. It drops you off right near the gate.

Survival Tips for San Antonio Moms

Tip Category Advice
Parking Download the Prked app. It lets you rent people’s driveways downtown. It’s often cheaper and safer than random “Cash Only” lots.
Bathroom Strategy Look for “Comfort Stations” (aka Porta Potties), but for a real bathroom, the Shops at Rivercenter or Hotel Lobbys (if you’re discreet!) are lifesavers.
The Sun It’s San Antonio in April—it could be 75° or 95°. Pack high-SPF sunscreen, clip on stroller fans, and cooling towels.
Hydration Most events allow one factory sealed water bottle per person. Use it!

💡 Pro Mom Move:

If the downtown crowds feel too overwhelming, head to Six Flags Fiesta Texas for their “Viva La Fiesta” event. You get the food and the music, but with the convenience of theme park bathrooms and paved paths for your double stroller.
